Jack O' Lantern guts and grins...

We went to Phill's brother Dave's house to carve pumpkins today.  The kids had lots of fun.  I love this time of year-it is the best.  Grandpa Elmer even got in on the action with the kids.  Dresdyn kept licking the spoon after we had scraped the seeds with it.

Here are the finished products. I think they did very well on them-Irelynd and Londyn did theirs on their own. I have to say that mine looked pretty good (it's the one below without me pictured).

That night I went to dinner with a bunch of old college friends.  I even had my camera and just didn't get a picture.  It was lots of fun.  Fifteen years has flown by like crazy and I can't believe life used to be so simple-just me and whatever I was up to.  We sat around and talked about old times and old friends and had a fantastic time.  I hadn't seen one of them in ten years and about fell on the floor when he told me he was in the Bishopric-I never would have predicted that one-he was such a mess in college and now so together.  I actually have another friend that is in the Bishopric now too that I never would have guessed (dad, it's the one that had earrings :).  He came home with me to Mark's football game one time and all Rick could focus on was the fact that he had ear rings-see dad-he's in the Bishopric now, my judgement wasn't so crazy back then ;) )  It's a good thing the Lord is in charge.  I don't know how many times I sat with my friend and talked about church and why it was important, etc...and he wanted nothing to do with it at the time.  The other night, he said he had found the Book of Mormon I had given him back then.  Life reaches forward and we never know how today's actions will affect the future.  I didn't even remember giving him a Book of Mormon, but he's held on to it for 15 years...crazy.
